ARREST AGENDA
ENGINE FOR IMPACT
As the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia to the Republic of Sierra Leone, it is with immense pride and enthusiasm that I present this magazine dedicated to the ‘5 Year – 6 Pillar’ development strategy, known as the ARREST AGENDA – ‘ENGINE FOR IMPACT.’ Under the leadership of His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., President of the Republic of Liberia, this strategic initiative is not merely a plan; it is a comprehensive framework designed to propel our nation towards sustainable development and resilience in the face of climate change. The ARREST AGENDA encompasses six critical pillars: Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, and Tourism. Each pillar is a vital component of our national strategy, addressing the core needs of our society while promoting sustainable practices that are essential in today’s world. In the context of climate change adaptation, our commitment to education serves as the cornerstone for fostering innovation and equipping our citizens with the 21st-century skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving environment. This magazine will delve into how the ARREST AGENDA harnesses the power of technology and renewable energy, creating a robust business model that encourages innovation and entrepreneurship. By nurturing local talents and businesses, we not only enhance economic growth but also ensure that our development strategies are aligned with environmental sustainability.
Moreover, the vision of the ARREST AGENDA extends beyond Liberia’s borders. It aims to strengthen regional ties with our neighbours in Sierra Leone and the Mano River Union as a whole, fostering collaboration and shared progress amidst the challenges posed by climate change. Through ECOWAS initiatives, we seek to create a united front in addressing these pressing issues, ensuring that our collective efforts lead to a resilient and prosperous future for all. As we embark on this journey, I invite you to the pages of this magazine, celebrate our achievements, and engage with the stories of those who are making a difference. Together, we can turn the ARREST AGENDA into a beacon of hope and a model for sustainable development not only for Liberia but for the entire West African region. Let us embrace this momentous opportunity to drive impactful change, foster innovation, and build a sustainable legacy for generations to come. Warm regards, H.E.
